If you’re asking about Plasma in relation to blood, blood is made up of many different things. This includes plasma. Plasma contains many different proteins and molecules of the blood. However, it does not contain other important bits of blood like red blood cells or white blood cells. Plasma is used a lot in research of patients as it is easy to get from a patient and can tell us so many things!

If you’re talking physics, then plasma is the 4th state of matter, along with solids, liquids and gases. In some ways, it’s like a gas, it has no shape or defined volume but it can also conduct electricity and can create magnetic fields. It’s usually made by heating gases up to really really high temperatures in a strong magnetic field. Plasmas are being generated as we explore the possibilities of nuclear fusion to generate power.

Dhruti has this answer covered below in terms of biology.
It’s it interesting though that plasma means different things in different types of science!
