No, my wife is actually a buyer. She follows trends in fashion, soft and hard goods, and predicts what the ‘cool thing’ will be next season or year and then gets her company to purchase a lot of that product to sell. My wife probably could have been a scientist, she started in math and physics, then language, but decided she wanted to be in the fashion world.
