• Question: Do you fear the rise of a pathogen completely immune to antibiotics; is such a thing possible?

      I think complete antibiotic resistance is a real possibility. Unfortunately, many people misuse antibiotics and do not take them correctly. Also, it has become much harder to find new antibiotics that bacteria are not resistant too. So it has become even more important to raise awareness of antibiotic resistance.

    Absolutely, this is a real problem as sometimes, antibiotics are prescribed for minor conditions and even for a cold! Antibiotics are for bacteria and not viruses. Also, if you do become ill enough to need antibiotics, it is important you take the full course as prescribed by your doctor.

    Another real challenge are fungi. There are even less anti fungal drugs than there are antibiotics so there are a lot of things for current and future medical scientists to tackle!
