Question: is a monkey smarter than us

No I don’t think it is. It does not have the same skills and intelligence as us and I think its brain is smaller. Amongst other animals I think some monkeys are quite smart tho. They are quite sociable and seem to form families and friendships and help each other out with things. This is usually considered intelligence. Some monkey species can also use simple tools to do things like getting ants out of a hole to eat.
