I would probably have become and engineer, I love to build things, to solve problems, and learn lots of cool things.

I changed the field of science from Biochemistry to Neuroscience. It was tough at first but now it means I am unusual and know more about both things which is cool.

I changed my field of work several times, did my Master’s in plant developmental biology, then moved to yeast chromosome biology, then yeast genetics, and now I work more broadly on yeast molecular biology and genetics. If I had to change again, I’d probably get more into evolutionary biology.

It is difficult really. One thing that does spring to mind is a geo-chemist. There is some fascinating work going on looking at detecting covid in wastewater and sewerage and deducing what it tells you about rates in the area and how they might rise or fall.
I bet there is a lot we could learn from the contents of wastewater, despite it being pretty nasty and smelly!

I think I would pick particle physics, I was always amazed by how you could measure such teeny tiny things and CERN just seems like such a cool place to work.

I could have become a Maths teacher for sure. I have a strong inclination for Maths and Science. Would love to be a teacher to all students.
