Great question and truth is no one actually knows for sure!
We know space is big, but we can only measure what we can see, this is known as the observable universe. And you can even measure that, its around 93 billion light years from one side to another, which is so big I can’t even imagine it! But scientists think space goes on forever because the bit we can see, the observable universe is flat, which is kind of like how Earth seems flat to us unless you are an astronaut floating around in space, then you can see its actually a ball. So probably we will never know just how big our universe is, unless we can float above it!

the edge of the universe is so far away that the light from there has not yet reached us since the universe started! So we can;t see whether it goes on forever or stops in some way.
There are lots of theories but nobody knows for certain how big the universe is or if it has an edge. The answer is probably something so weird that we can’t even imagine it.
